Dog Squirt Gun (9217)
Most of these squirt guns all have the same mechanism of operation. They look like they could have been made by the same company. Some of the handles look like they could be interchangeable, although the shafts all seem to be of different woods and qualities. I think this dog with a ball in its mouth and the water squirting from it, is one of the rarest, yet probably the least valuable. Made from the same pot metal, well cast, circa, the same date of all the others and it works well. They have to work for them to be worth putting into a collection. I've had to replace the rubber blatter on most of them, I use a piece of surgical tubing. A little thick to give a lot of squirts, but they last for a long time. It usually requires soaking in Acetone or using a little heat to remove the lower part of the handle. It also requires making seals to put in the upper handle to keep them from leaking.
