 Umbrella Handles As Magnafiers (9141)
I just took all these pictures in Brimfield, Mass. the largest antique venue in America, over 4000 dealers. The pictures below are all handles that belong to one dealer who buys umbrella handles and puts magnifiers on them. I saw him running thru the fields buying umbrellas with bad cloth and handles. He feels he can make more money doing that, than putting them on shafts or umbrellas. What's interesting to me is the number of magnifiers I have bought thru the years, that I have taken the magnifiers off and put the handles on shafts and umbrellas. It all depends on who wants what for what. His price was $150 for most, with the porcellian one at 350.
