Magic Table (8830)
This is my newest cane, I got it last week. I've always wanted it, but one with the original top was illusive to me at the right price. I like it a lot better now that I own it and see how it works, as it is very complicated. I give it a 3* out of 4, and a value code of E, 3000 to 6000. You will see very few 4* from me, as I only consider myself to have only a few. I may change my mind in time, with discussion. The problem is the experts arn't interested in the educational part of this site, I seem to be the only one.
One thing about this one is, no one will ever reproduce it, as it has a 100 parts. I do think it could be fixed, what ever is wrong with it, as it has metal parts that can be replaced, its not rocket science. Circa 1890. The cane screws appart in the center, the tripod legs are spread out, then the rod at the bottom is pushed up, and the table top comes out the top of the handle. Four supports are then pushed down and it becomes a flat table. The mechanism and top are all one piece as there is nothing to put together.
