Stag Horn Handle With Stag Trigger And Stock (8727)
There is a lot I like about this cane, and I don't even know where or who made it. My guess is Germany, because it was made with a stag horn handle. Dike has one very similar to it in 32/21. The first difference is that this one has threads only half way around for a quick releace, as opposed to having to screw it all the way off as the one in Dike. I like the natural brier wood covering, which would have been very difficult to do. I like the deer that is handengraved on a shield on the cocking collar. Turn it and it cocks, you have to put the trigger down first. I like the matching stock which attachs to the shaft, so you can carry the mechanism in your pocket and use it as a normal cane. I like the long original ferrule, which means it's probably for the 1870's which is early for one of these.
