The Longest Flick Stick Ever Made? (8342)

The square blade on this flick stick is 12.25". I've never seen one more than 6". You have to hold it near the ferrule and swing it like a bat to get it to its full length and locked open. It works very well, but that is a long ways to go. The blade is actually quite complicated, the way it is made to split to latch. Also notice the square trap door, as I have seen no reproductions of this style. It also has a spring mechanism that keeps it closed when not in use. I would date it around the 1870's. Anybody seen a longer blade?
