Fireworks And Rocket Cane (8273)

I think this has a scarcity rating of 4* and a value rating C $6000 to $3000, based on seeing another for sale a few years ago, and it is in Dike 33/54. She calls it fireworks and rocket cane. I said I wouldn’t put anything here that was in Dike, unless information could be added. The reason I’m justifying putting it here is that I recently experienced using one, and I was surprised how much fun I had shooting it. It makes a loud noise from the 6mm blank that catapults the rocket with a bright red flame about 150 ft into the air, easily seen even on a bright day. Dike said the handle, which is a solid turned brass knobkerrie, if left on will project with a great force. I decided to fire it into a bail of hay, not knowing how it would react. Not only did it act like cannon, but it moved the entire bail. It was surprisingly accurate, and to my relief didn’t damage the handle. The container that holds the rocket has straight lines engraved into the outside, which I think would increase its accuracy. The handle is friction fit in such a way that the handle won’t fall off, but pull off with just the right tension. The person who owned it believed it was from the 1920’s and made in France. The ferrule which is nickel plated and has a rounded steel tip on the bottom, is not one I have seen. The shaft is ebonized hardwood. I wonder how many others there are. Write if you have one, or have any further information. If you come to Michigan you can shoot it too.
