 Massive Duck Glove Holder (8218)
This is exactly like the smaller versions,but this handle is 6" long, 5"high , and 3" accross. The polichrome colors are beautiful, and it has glass eyes.
It would be nice to know why they made these. Were they given to the cane store because they bought so many canes? Were they a sample of their work? Were they special ordered by someone who wanted to be ostentasious? Oh did I tell you it has a massive malacca shaft with a 18" glass tube and a wrist strap hole just above the take apart for the flask indicating it was for carrying. There truly are big mans canes. What was different about these men and the canes they carried. Percentege wise they are small in number comparied to the normal size ones, but there are large numbers of massive canes and this book will show that. Black forest Germany is where I believe this one was made. Circa 1890
