Japanese Ivory Monkeys With Polichrome (9215)
I like every thing about this umbrella, because it is in mint condition and signed. The handle is Japanese carved monkeys on both sides. The polichrome is the paint that are one the monkeys. The handle was put on the umbrella in England. It is signed S. Fox &Co. on a plaque on one of the stays. It also says paragon, which I take to mean the model. The silk is in unused condition with an interesting pattern. The tips on the end of the stays are usually one piece metal, these are ivory and all of them are there.Circa 1900. Scarcity code is 3* and value code is f.
