Item Detail

Dated 1788 American Sword Cane (8214)

Ivory knob with Massachusetts one cent coin in top. I'm told coin is very rare. Lets say all coins in tops of canes are suspisous. This 8" ferrule, Malacca shaft, and 24" blade is still pretty nice and its still the likely date for this early americian cane. Another possible claim for originality is the matching copper rings around the wrist strap hole. The materials are supposed to match. Copper is not a common material for these.
