Brass With Lions (8603)

The round brass holder with lions with rings in their mouths are the most common umbrella holder in the world. There were literally millions made. The problem is they have reproduced it and it cost more to polish an old one than what it is worth. This hexagonal one is a little better, but not much. I have seen the common one unpolished at $50 to polished at $150. The good news is, because they are solid brass they can always be made to look great. I have never seen a brass plated one. Circa 1890 to 1910.
