 Pewter Flask And Cup On Malacca (8509)
If it wasn't for the ferrule on this one I would have thought it was 18th century. In a couple of canes there will be a flask marked pewter, which they began to mark with the McKinley act of 1891. Pewter collectors don't consider anything marked pewter collectable pewter. This piece on the other hand has the color and workmanship of good pewter. I would date this in the 1850's, early for a gadget cane.
